District Conference 2012
Rotary District 1060 Conference will be held in Cardiff 26th to 28th October 2012. All Plenary and Social events will be held at the Headquarters Hotel, Holland House Hotel, which is situated close to the pedestrianised shopping precinct. Delegates are invited to consider looking at the Holland House Hotel as their first choice as it will not involve any walking or transport to and from the conference venue

Secretaries Newsletter for February 2012
The nomination forms for Committee Membership for 2012/13 have been sent to all Secretaries. Return date for completed forms is 1st March. Existing Committee members who wish to continue must complete a new nomination form.
Last reminder that the third District Council Meeting for 2011/12 is scheduled for Wednesday 14th March at the Arden School, Knowle at the usual time of 6.30 for 7.00. This is the meeting when the budget will be agreed for 2012/13 so it is important and relevant to all Rotarians.
Rotary Member Survey
We are a group of MBA students currently studying at Warwick University Business School. As part of our programme we are working with Rotary District 1060 to help them address the concerns about the current reducing and aging membership. As part of this project your opinion and knowledge about Rotary would be used to design a suitable marketing strategy for the District.

Christmas is now I hope a happy memory and Burns Night successfully celebrated. We are just awaiting the real Spring. In the remaining six months of our Rotary Year there's lots to do. May I remind you of the emphasis that our RI President Kalyan set us in July last year.

Foundation and International Seminar
The Rotary Foundation is our own Charity and makes an amazing difference both in the UK and worldwide. Ignoring the Polio initiative it raises in excess of US$100 million each year for spending on Humanitarian and Educational programmes and projects. The “Mission Statement” of The Rotary Foundations is “To enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty”.
