Howard Wilson - The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways

Howard Wilson is the Chairman of the Ffestiniog Railway Society and will be talking to the club on 1 March. The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways of North Wales have fascinating industrial and social history. Whilst the Ffestiniog is one of the oldest railways in the world, last year it was reconnected with the restored Welsh Highland Railway connecting Caernarfon with Blaenau Ffestiniog via Portmadoc (where the trains now run through the streets of the town.) Both railways fell into disuse but have been restored, to create one of Britain’s premier tourist attractions in this beautiful part of the world.

Miss Donnelle Christian, one of the Ambassadorial Scholars in the District, is visiting the Club and will give members a presentation on her background, family and life in Jamaica as well as her experiences of life as a student in the UK.
Donnelle is undertaking a MBA course at Aston University. Donelle has a background in the Media.
This is an opportunity for Rotarians to meet one of the two Ambassadorial Scholars, especially where clubs have not been able to secure a visit, due to the many commitments that the Scholars have.
